Unable to send Mail (Rejected by Server) SMTP Authentication

Having issues with sending emails on iPad/iPhone? Is it saying that (email address) has been rejected by the server?

Yes, this error is encountered if you do not have SMTP Authentication enabled for your outgoing mail settings.

To correct this error please take the below steps.

1. Go to settings->Mail,Contacts,Calendars and select the email account
2. Click the account name
3. It should show incoming and below that outgoing server.
If you are using SSL for your email your incoming/outgoing server should read mail.{yourdomain.co.nz} substitute {yourdomain.co.nz} with your actual domain.
4. Click on the primary server
5. Populate the username and password fields.  Your full email address in username.  Make sure the Use SSL option/slider is on to use SSL.
6. Select done.  Your device will now verify all the details are correct.  If so you will see briefly green ticks?

Other Questions:
Q. Do I need to select anything under authentication?
A. No
Q. Do I need to enter a password?
A. If you entered the password field above there which had optional in there that is it.  The field authentication should just read Password which is the type of authentication used

After done you should be able to go back to the Mail App and it should send any mail that is jammed up.
